Kent Air Ambulance lands on Herne Bay seafront to help elderly man who fell from a ladder in Western Esplanade, Herne Bay

An elderly man suffered a head injury when he fell from a ladder at a beach hut in Herne Bay this afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Western Esplanade near Albany Drive just before 1pm.

The man, in his 70s, sustained a cut to his head when he plunged from the 12ft ladder.

One ambulance crew arrived and called for back-up from the Kent Air Ambulance, which landed on Herne Bay seafront near Hampton Pier.

The man, who had suspected neck injuries, was placed in a neck brace before being taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital by road.
