Two women were assaulted after getting involved in a late-night dispute outside a kebab shop in Herne Bay.

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the women were attacked by two men around 1.45am on Sunday, January 24.

The first incident happened when a woman in her 20s was assaulted on the High Street after she tried to intervene in a dispute.

A friend of the victim is then reported to have approached the men and a verbal exchange took place before she too was assaulted.

The kebab shop is close to the junction with New Street.
