Herne Bay man arrested after BMW stopped in high street

A suspected dealer has been arrested after suspected crack cocaine and cannabis were seized from a BMW.

The car was stopped by police in Herne Bay High Street yesterday evening after they received a report that the occupants of a vehicle had been supplying drugs in the area.

The illicit substances were discovered at the scene, along with a large quantity of cash and a number of small sealable bags.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the occupant of the car, a 30-year-old man from Herne Bay, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs, driving while disqualified and driving with excess drugs."

He remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Insp Kevin Stephens said: "We do not tolerate drug dealing.

"Anyone who witnesses suspected illegal activity or has concerns it might be taking place in their neighbourhood should report it by calling 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress, so officers can investigate and take action.’
