Woman injured after Herne Bay High Street crash

A young man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a cyclist was injured in a crash.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene close to the Texaco in Herne Bay High Street following the collision, which involved a bike and car, just after 11am today.

The female cyclist was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to QEQM Hospital.

A police spokesman said: "A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving and remains in custody."

An ambulance service spokesman says the woman is not thought to have suffered serious injuries.
