Adorable footage shows the moment members of the public rallied together to help a family of ducks safely cross the road.
Stopping traffic in Herne Bay town centre, the caring bystanders watched on as the mother duck and her 10 ducklings made their way across the high street.
The family appears to have come from Dolphin Street in a video captured by resident Claire Caskey, which has more than 400 likes.
Residents grouped around the ducks, with one person standing in the road warning cars to stop.
Another lady joins a man who is walking behind the birds to make sure they do not stray apart.
As they crossed the road, traffic in both directions stopped.
The family then waddle under a parked car before appearing on the path.
Another resident, Toni-lee Paine, then helped get them from the main road to the Memorial Park near Dering Road alongside her friends.
She said: “They [the ducks] couldn’t do it on their own and I would have felt guilty if I’d gone home and told my little girl I didn’t help so the five of us literally surrounded them and walked them the whole way while some else stopped the traffic so we could get them all the way to the pond.
“I won’t lie I did feel like a proud duck parent after! We used a box from my car to try and get mum and babies into so it would be safer for them but when we wouldn’t get her safely we decided to just walk them the whole way.”
In a video by Ms Paine, the family walks down more streets before returning to the park and jumping into the water.
Commenting on the video, residents said it was lovely to see so many people helping the ducks but shared concerns over how the family had got so far away from the pond.
One said: "Wonder how they got around to the high street in the first place? What a lovely thing to watch."
Others said it was "such a lovely sight" and "heartwarming".
Another resident commented: "I worry why mummy duck was so far away from the pond… Hopefully, she’ll stay put now with her babies safe in the park. So lovely to see kind hearts at work. Thank you."
