Five vehicles were damaged after a car caught fire.

Firefighters were called to Central Parade in Herne Bay at 8.09pm.

Footage of the incident shows an SUV alight and thick black smoke coming from it. Local people tried to use extinguishers to put out the blaze before the fire service arrived.

The flames spread to four other cars nearby.
