Herne Bay: Fly-tippers caught on CCTV dumping rubbish near former Share and Coulter pub

This shocking image captures the moment brazen fly-tippers dump tonnes of rubble on a picturesque country lane in broad daylight.
Angry parish council officials released the photo this week after reading on KentOnline about fly-tipping around the abandoned Share and Coulter pub.
Mounds of rubbish have been left near and outside the site in Owls Hatch Road, including bricks, rubble and even an abandoned van.
Chestfield parish council chairman Steve Bailey said: “We obtained this film from a concerned resident.
“It is on the boundary of Chestfield, but we still care about it – this is about the environment; it is as simple as that.
“There is no need for fly-tipping.”
Mr Bailey added that prosecutions are needed to help combat the issue.
He said: “If prosecutions were to come out, people might think twice, but my view is that until something like that happens it is just an open invitation.
“Hopefully I am wrong, but we have put bollards up in the past and all that did was move them on to another spot.
“There must be prosecutions for this.
“It is just not nice – I think everyone wants to see some action.”
The former Share and Coulter pub was sold by Shepherd Neame last year.

City council spokesman Rob Davies said the authority is working on clearing the fly-tipping.
He said: “We have already seen this CCTV footage, and although it does not show a number plate, it is very useful in terms of helping build up a picture of what is happening at this site.
“Investigations are continuing and we are in the process of arranging clearance of the rubbish on the publicly-owned area of land.”
