DETECTIVES have released two e-fit images after a postman was attacked and his Royal Mail van stolen in a Kent seaside town.

The incident occurred just before 10.30am on December 15 when two robbers approached the van driver in Cavendish Street, Herne Bay.

They punched him about the face and head before driving away in his van. The empty van was later found abandoned in a small car park in Underdown Road, Herne Bay.

The postman, who was delivering special delivery parcels, was taken to hospital in Margate with face injuries but was released after treatment.
