The sister of a young woman described as a “ray of sunshine” has launched a fundraiser following her tragic death.

Heartfelt tributes poured in last month for “beautiful soul” Bella Goldsmith, who died in Eddington Lane, Herne Bay.

The former Herne Bay High School pupil had been reported missing by loved ones on September 13 and was found dead the following day.

Now, her younger sister, Maisie, has launched a fundraising campaign in her memory.

The GoFundMe page, which can be found here, says: “Lots of people have been asking if there’s anything they can do or donate to in Bella’s memory.

“I have decided to make this page to raise some money for a bench for her where people can sit and think about her and the love and joy she brought to everyone.

“I have not been able to get an exact number but if it does exceed the amount needed it will be going to the Dogs Trust.”

More than £2,800 has already been raised since the appeal was launched yesterday.

Bella’s death sparked an outpouring of grief, with friends and family gathering for a colourful balloon release on the seafront and sharing touching tributes.

A celebration of her life was held at St Martin's Church in Herne on Tuesday, with loved ones sharing memories of Bella and the happiness she brought to those who knew her

Following her death, dozens of tributes were left on Bella’s Facebook page, where people told of the lasting impact she would have on their lives.

“I'm so heartbroken that you have left us for now,” he wrote.

“Giving, caring, generous and brave. You were the light for all of us Bells.”

Jennifer-Rose Murphy posted: “I will never have the right words, but what I will say is your bubbly energy, crazy sense of humour and enthusiasm will be sorely, sorely missed.

“You’re one in a million and I’m gutted that my little girl isn’t gonna have the chance to meet you.”

Floral tributes, candles and cards were left near the scene of Bella’s death, which police are not treating as suspicious.
