A man ran through a town centre screaming "they've cut me, they've cut me" after a stabbing in Herne Bay this morning.
The victim - believed to be in his 20s - suffered knife wounds to his hands and one leg after a suspected assault at the junction of High Street and South Road shortly after 11am.
Emergency crews raced to the scene and he was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
A local business owner - who asked not to be named - tried to help the man after hearing him shouting.
He said: "He came running up here screaming 'they've cut me, they've cut me'.
"I don't like to get involved with things like that, when there's knives involved, but I took a white towel to him to hold it on the wound, but he said it was too dirty."
Two police cars and forensics teams are still at the scene and community officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries.
A pool of blood and mobile phone on the pavement has been taped off by police.
