Man violently assaulted in Herne Bay town centre

A man has been violently assaulted in Herne Bay, in an attack which left him needing hospital treatment.

He was reportedly attacked at about 7.30pm last night, at the junction of Mortimer Street and East Street.

The man was allegedly punched, kicked and hit with an object during the assault.

The attack is believed to have happened at the junction between Mortimer Street and East Street (1347598)

He was taken to hospital for his injuries, which are described as non-life threatening.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses of the assault.

Spokesman Jordan Bluer said: "Officers are keen to speak to anyone with information about the incident or the identity of those involved."

Witnesses are asked to call the appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference ZY/16350/18.
