Pervert Stuart Wynne – who made his living installing secret CCTV cameras, has been sent to prison...for spying on couples having sex.

The 50-year-old used his skills to watch and record his unsuspecting victims in private –after sneakily fixing cameras at houses in Herne Bay and Canterbury.

While giving evidence at his trial, he admitted setting up the equipment but denied doing it for sexual reasons.

He claimed people “might misinterpret the snooping and secret filming of people doing private acts as indicative of him being some kind of deviant and a pervert.”

Now a judge has told him: “I am sorry but such an interpretation is not in any way misguided. It is the only reasonable conclusion that can be drawn from the evidence.”

The audio-visual engineer was convicted by a jury at Canterbury Crown Court.

Wynne had been charged with 16 offences of voyeurism dating from 1998 to 2015. During a trial he was convicted of five offences and was found not guilty of the remaining 11.

Wynne rigged up covert cameras in two houses in east Kent.

At the Canterbury house cameras were hidden in the main bathroom, under the sink in the downstairs toilet, and in a ceiling fan and an infra-red alarm case in a spare bedroom.

At the Herne Bay home cameras were found hidden behind mirrors in the main bathroom and the ensuite bathroom.

Discs were discovered at one house showing images of Wynne's victims showering, bathing, using the toilet and having sex.

Police were alerted in December 2014 and Wynne was arrested on suspicion of voyeurism.

Now Wynne, of Ruby Walk, Kings Hill, West Malling has been jailed for two-and-a-half years for his twisted behaviour.

Judge Simon James told him: “Having wired up numerous covert cameras in houses, it was discovered you had recorded images of unsuspecting people for your own sexual gratification.

“This has caused upset to many people – including your five victims.”

Wynne had denied 16 offences of voyeurism dating back 13 years – and was acquitted of 11 of them by the jury.

But they decided that between 2004 and 2005 he filmed a couple doing “a private act” without their consent...and for his own sexual gratification.

The three other guilty verdicts involved two other victims at addresses near Herne Bay and Canterbury.

Wynne admitted setting up the spy cameras but denied it was his sexual pleasure.

The judge told him that instead of admitting he had done it to obtain sexual gratification he had dismissed his earlier admissions to police.

“You then set off on a self-justificatory fantasy, making up stories and allegations in a vain attempt at justification.

“You sought to blame everyone else other than yourself, showing me that you are a man without a semblance of real remorse and an individual with no real insight into the violations your conduct caused your victims.”

Investigating officer Detective Constable Julia Pettman said: "Wynne used his professional skills as an audio visual specialist to rig two houses with hidden cameras so he could film people for his own sexual gratification.

"Some of these offences dated back almost 20 years and I hope Wynne’s

sentence is a stark reminder to sexual offenders that Kent Police will investigate all allegations, no matter how long ago they were committed."

She paid tribute to his victims: "Wynne’s

conduct was unforgivable and his actions have blighted the lives of his victims yet they have shown great bravery by coming forward and giving evidence against him."
