Two short men seen crawling the streets of Herne Bay in a Ford Transit van have been knocking on doors and peering into homes.
Police have issued a warning to be vigilant following reports of the suspicious behaviour on Tuesday afternoon (June 28).
The men were seen in The Broadway, Ridgeway Cliff and Carlton Hill.
Acting Sergeant Colette Todd said: “The two men were reportedly driving their van slowly in the area looking into houses.
“We also had a report that they were knocking on doors in the area.
“Although no crimes have been reported, we would always urge people to be vigilant and to always check the identity of anyone knocking at their door.
“If you are not sure, phone the company they are representing and confirm they are legitimate.
"Genuine callers won’t mind. If you are in any doubt ask them to come back at a time when you have a chance to have someone with you.”
The two men are described as white and 5ft 5ins.
One was aged about 30 and was wearing dark shorts and a light blue t-shirt. He was of an average build and had short, dark brown or black hair.
The other was in his early 50s and was of a larger build. He was wearing dark trousers and a black zip-up jacket with white writing on the back.
