Police were called after three boys put their lives at risk by climbing onto the roof of a house.

Officers were alerted by a member of the public who had spotted the children, sged just eight and nine, and was concerned for their safety.

It is thought they had climbed onto the building, in St George’s Avenue, Herne Bay, to retrieve an item they had been playing with.

Sgt Mark Walmsley-Preece found the boys, and advised them of the danger they were putting themselves in, and of the possible grave consequences of their actions.

“Although the actions of these youngsters were well intentioned, they were putting themselves in unnecessary danger.

“I hope the warning will make them think about their safety when playing in the future.”
