An infants school is closed today because of a break-in on Sunday night.

Pupils have been turned away from St Philip Howard School in Herne Bay.

The junior school on the Avenue Road site remains open and police are currently carrying out investigations at the scene.

The break-in was reported at 7.40am by a member of staff, who discovered signs of a forced entry into a classroom and missing property.
