A stunning piece of street art in memory of a teenager killed on a rail line has sparked an emotional reaction among friends and loved ones.

The mural in tribute to Taiyah-Grace Peebles appears to have gone up over the weekend on the front of a building in Margate that has previously been used by street artists.

There has been a huge outpouring of grief since the 16-year-old Herne Bay girl died on the track at the town's railway station last week.

Flowers, cards and posters have been left at the scene and now the mural has taken the emotional reaction to a new level. It is not known who created the picture but an inscription reads: "In memory of Taiyah Peebles. Taken too young. 2001-2017. Rest in Peace."

Delcie Amelia Sanderson wrote on Facebook: "My beautiful baby sister shining big and bright in Margate. I am absolutely in love with this."

Kelly Harris-Humphrys posted: "Absolutely amazing. What a beautiful tribute to such a beautiful young lady who was taken far too soon."

The wall at a former parade of shops near the main beach has been established for some time as an area for artists to express themselves.

The tribute to Taiyah-Grace comes as a special service was being held in Herne Bay on Sunday night with candles and prayers for the young people of the town still trying to come to terms with the tragic death.
