A talented singer is through to the next stage of The Voice Kids competition after wowing the audience on national television.
Holly Firmin, who is in Year 9 at the Spires Academy in Sturry, impressed the judges with her version of Rebecca Ferguson’s Nothing’s Real But Love on the ITV show on Saturday.
So good was her performance that judge Danny Jones, of pop-rock band McFly, picked Holly for his team, meaning she will be back on the show this Saturday at 7.30pm.
Holly – who lives in Reculver Road, Herne Bay – sang with her eyes shut before the audience started cheering.
“There was quite a lot of pressure as everyone there seemed really experienced,” she said.
“But it was the best feeling ever, I didn’t think he was going to turn around but he did at the last second.
“Everyone at school has been really encouraging, everyone started clapping when I went into school and playing my audition on repeat.”
Holly will be on The Voice Kids this weekend on Saturday, July 8 at 7.30pm.
