BRAVE Chloe Wright, a four-year-old Kent girl who was fighting a rare form of cancer and travelled to America for treatment, has died.

Chloe lost her battle for life at her home in Herne Bay with her parents Darren and Debbie at her side.

She slipped away peacefully at the end of a long and courageous struggle that began in the spring of 2002 when the cancer was first diagnosed.

Her family were devastated to receive the results of Chloe's latest scan on Friday at the M D Anderson Center in Houston. They showed the cancer had advanced beyond hope. Doctors advised the family there was nothing more they could do and to bring Chloe home. She died on Monday.

The toddle had touched the hearts of thousands of people throughout East Kent who supported Chloe's Appeal, backed by the Kentish Gazette newspaper. Their generosity helped raise more than £260,000 towards her treatment at the M D Anderson Center.

The funeral will take place on Thursday, July 29, at 2pm at Christ Church in William Street, Herne Bay, followed by interment at Herne Bay Cemetery at 3pm.
