A 20-year-old mum tragically died on New Year's Eve just three weeks after giving birth to her second child.

Jasmine Donkin, who lived in Herne Bay, collapsed on Tuesday morning after complaining of a tight chest.

She had given birth to her second child, Callie-Grace, just a fortnight before Christmas and had a one-year-old son, Storm.

Paramedics rushed to her home and performed three hours of "relentless" CPR - with the help of an off-duty anaesthetist - before she was rushed to the QEQM Hospital in Margate.

Doctors worked hard to stabilise her for a CT scan and she was monitored in an intensive care unit.

The scans tragically revealed blood clots in Jasmine's lungs which had starved oxygen to her brain. She died the same day.

Her partner, Matt Cullen, said: "It caused her heart to shut down, meaning this stunning, kind, caring partner, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, and friend to every single one of us was laid to rest forever.

"But this doesn’t mean she will ever be forgotten, not by anyone."

Matt, from Whitstable, has written about the "tragic experience" on a Go Fund Me page set up to raise money for Jasmine's funeral.

"This fundraiser is to ensure my gorgeous little Jasmine flower gets the send-off she most definitely deserves," he wrote.
