Travellers have set up camp on private land near a supermarket.

The unauthorised encampment is opposite Sainsbury's in Broomfield, near Herne Bay.

A spokesperson for Canterbury City Council said its officers were liasing closely with police.

They also said the authority is supporting the landowners who are "considering their next steps".
