Herne Bay: Southeastern trains delayed because of trespasser

An injured woman has been discovered on train tracks near Herne Bay.

British Transport Police (BTP) say she has not been hit by a train but suffered some non-life threatening injuries.

Southeastern trains are still at a standstill and delays are expected until at least 4.30pm after the woman was discovered on the line.

The electricity has been switched off and there is delays between Chatham and Ramsgate.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Herne Bay station at 3.13pm on Tuesday, 29 March following reports of a woman on the line.

“The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was escorted from the station and taken to hospital for further assessment.”
