Heavy traffic after two-car crash on A299 Thanet Way in Herne Bay

A busy dual-carriageway has been blocked after a two-car crash and an ‘oil spillage’.

There is heavy traffic in the area following the collision on the A299, Thanet Way in Herne Bay which happened just before 3pm today.

One lane of the coastbound carriageway is shut, and police and ambulance crews are on the scene.

Traffic information site Inrix reports that there is also an oil spillage on the road.

A spokesman for the force said: “We were called just before 3pm on Monday 29 January 2024 to the A299 Thanet Way following reports of a collision involving two vehicles.

“The ambulance service has also been called.”
