Arrest after alleged assault in Bank Street, Herne Bay

Two men were taken to hospital with cuts and bruises after a "disturbance" in Herne Bay.

Police were called to Bank Street at about 3.30am yesterday to reports of a group of people involved in a disturbance.

One of the victims told officers he had also been punched about half an hour earlier, as he stood on the High Street near Bank Street.

The incident happened in Bank Street, Herne Bay (3932254)

A 22-year-old man from Herne Bay was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released while the investigation continues.

Police believe there were a number of people in the area at the time and want witnesses to call 01843 222289 quoting ZY/051775/18, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
