An unexplained fire has destroyed a caravan in Herne Bay.

Four fire engines attended the blaze in Margate Road at about 8.40pm last night.

Crews used a hose reel jet and a main jet, with water from a hydrant to extinguish it, along with a positive pressure ventilation fan.

A spokesman said: "The blaze destroyed the caravan and surrounding hay and undergrowth.

"There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known."

They left the scene at 9.50pm.
