Police appeal for information after woman beaten unconscious in Herne Bay robbery

A woman was beaten unconscious during an alleyway robbery in Herne Bay.

Police are appealing for information after the woman in her 30s was left with a black eye and facial injuries following the incident.

The victim - who was attacked in an alleyway off the High Street between the Vivid nightclub and Bay Kebabs - lost consciousness during the attack.

When she came to, she realised the contents of her handbag, about £30, was missing.

The attack happened between 2.40am and 3am on Tuesday, May 3, but police have only just released details.

Detective Constable Shelah Thompson said: "Following a number of inquiries, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area.

"We know from reviewing available CCTV footage that there were still a lot of people in the area at that time and although we have spoken to a number of witnesses, it is possible there is someone who has yet to speak to officers."
