A driver was left shaken and covered in glass after an alleged hit-and-run.
The crash happened on Saturday evening in Thornden Woods near Herne Bay, with police now carrying out inquiries.
A young couple were travelling in the car on their way home from a meal in Faversham when the collision occured.
And now, the mother of the driver has spoken out after the second car involved did not stop after the smash.
“I got a text message at 9.38pm,” she said.
“They had gone to Faversham for a dinner and were on their way back.
“Thank God he managed to get home despite the glass all over his body.
“We had to help him get out.
“It just really makes me angry that the other person involved did not bother to stop and check if they were OK.
“I think that road should have some lights added.”
Luckily, the couple were not physically hurt.
“They are OK in the sense of at least they are not hurt, but it is the emotional impact," she said.
“I think the shock will take time to pass.
“He has also now been left to shoulder all the expenses.
“It’s not fair on him to claim on his insurance as it was a hit-and-run.
“It will affect his monthly payments if he makes a claim and he is trying to save for other things.”
A spokesperson for the police said officers were made aware of the incident the day after it happened, with inquiries now ongoing.
“It is reported that two cars were involved in a collision on Thornden Wood Road, Herne Bay, just south of the junction with Owls Hatch Road,” they said.
“No injuries were reported.
“One of the vehicles reportedly did not stop at the scene and Kent Police's traffic summons team are carrying out inquiries.”
