Armed police descended on a street after a person was spotted with a weapon.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested and a samurai sword seized after a huge police response in Hampton Pier Avenue, near Herne Bay.
Armed units were called to assist with the incident on Saturday evening.
A force spokesman said: “We were called to Hampton Pier Avenue, Herne Bay at 5.17pm on Saturday following reports a person was seen to be in possession of a weapon.
“Officers attended and arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray.
“A samurai sword was seized.
“He has been bailed until June 19.”
