Three balaclava-clad men broke into Herne Bay’s Harvester overnight – but fled empty-handed after activating the alarm.
The men, who were all wearing dark trousers, dark hoodies and balaclavas, are believed to have accessed the pub by a flat roof.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident on Monday, which happened between 1.58am and 2.06am.
It was the second time in eight days intruders had targeted the spot in Margate Road.
Another burglary was reported at the pub between 2am and 2.37am on Sunday, July 10, but the offenders also made off empty-handed.
In another incident, cash was stolen from staff accommodation at the Coastguard pub in St Margaret’s Bay on Sunday.
Acting detective sergeant Richard Allen said: “We are keeping an open mind as to whether or not the incidents are linked and are following a number of lines of inquiry.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who recognises the descriptions of the men or who was in either area at the relevant times and saw any suspicious activity.”
