A pricing blunder has seen the cost of a fast food sandwich potentially cost hungry diners more than £1,000.
American giants Subway is currently charging the astronomical figure for the new Hunter’s Chicken signature sub at one of its Kent stores via the Just Eat delivery app.
It is affecting customers wishing to buy the sandwich from the chain’s Herne Bay branch in William Street.
Other footlong products in the company’s new ‘signature series’ cost £12.19 while at other stores in Kent the item is priced at £11.99.
The gaffe points towards the £1,219 pricing being input by mistake.
But as of 8pm, it remained listed on the delivery website for the four-figure sum and had not been corrected.
The 942-calorie sandwich contains chicken breast, streaky bacon, American-style cheese, crispy onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and BBQ sauce.
The company’s six-inch Hunter’s Chicken sub from Herne Bay remains £8.99.
Subway and Just Eat have been approached for comment.
KentOnline has also attempted to contact the branch directly.
