This was the dramatic scene after a car struck a lamp post and crushed part of a garden wall.

Shocked neighbours witnessed the spectacle today (Saturday) at Herne Drive, Greenhill, Herne Bay.

Part of the perimeter wall of the affected property appears to have been left as rubble.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called at 1.15pm to a report of a car colliding with a lamp post and wall in Herne Drive.

"Officers attended.

"No injuries have been reported.

"Enquires into the incident are ongoing."
