A driver who careened off the road and into a garden wall remains at large after fleeing the scene.
The motorist was approaching the sharp bend in Reculver Road, Herne Bay when they lost control of their vehicle and hit a low brick wall.
The dark grey hatchback’s bonnet crumpled in the crash and caused significant damage to the homeowner’s fence.
Before officers could attend the driver fled the scene and has yet to be tracked down.
A spokesman for the police said: “We were called at 9.30pm on Sunday April 23, to Reculver Drive, Herne Bay following reports a car had collided with a wall.
“Officers attended and the driver was not at the scene.
“Inquiries are ongoing to locate the registered owner of the vehicle.”
Following the incident residents were drawn to the scene, near the junction with Reculver Drive, by the loud bang caused by the smash.
It is not the first time the bend has caused problems for drivers.
One social media user responded to reports of the crash, saying: “You could hear the car approaching the bend, then a bang and then silence.
“I’m getting used to seeing cars embedded in that wall, I just feel sorry for the homeowner.”
