A garage has been badly damaged after a car left the road and smashed into the side of it.
The red car, reportedly with four people inside, was travelling along Maypole Lane in Hoath, near Herne Bay, when it ploughed into Monica Blyth's garage.
Monica was eating out at a restaurant at the time with her husband and son, but had a call from her neighbour to tell her what had happened.
Monica said: "My neighbour said she had heard a massive bang before going outside to see what had happened.
"By the time we got back, there were police and the four lads who had been in the car were standing outside.
"We were very shocked as our garage is almost 30 metres away from the road."
The mother-of-three and Herne and Broomfield Parish Council clerk has yet to count the cost of the damage.
The crumbled bricks were just inches away from her husband's car parked inside and another vehicle parked on the driveway.
Her husband's compressor was damaged but Monica was more concerned for the driver and his friends.
She said: "They were lucky to come away uninjured.
"They're also lucky they didn't injure anyone else. If the neighbours' children had been playing outside, that could also have been extremely dangerous."
A structural engineer from Canterbury City Council attended on Saturday morning to make sure the building was safe and the vehicle was later recovered.
Police are not investigating the cause of the crash.
