Thornden Wood Road crash leaves car overturned near Herne Bay

A driver miraculously escaped serious injury after flipping his car along a notorious stretch of road.

The black Renault was written-off after it overturned at 9.20am in Thornden Wood Road - a through route between Herne Bay and Canterbury dubbed "accident alley" by locals.

A passerby called police after spotting the car on its side about 20ft from the roadside.

Fire crews and paramedics were also called, but police say the male driver escaped serious injury.

No passengers were in the car and no other vehicles are thought to have been involved in the crash.
