An angry confrontation erupted in a busy high street this morning after a woman reportedly punched a dog in the head.
The clash shortly after 11am was sparked by the unsavoury incident in Herne Bay.
A woman - walking with two dogs and three children - was said to have struck one of the dogs near the junction with Bank Street.
She was confronted by a concerned member of the public, but reportedly responded with a foul-mouthed tirade before walking off.
The dogs were described by an onlooker as "big, cross-breed types".
It is not thought the police were alerted.
