Firefighters have cut a man free from the wreckage of his car - after it collided with their fire engine in a busy high street.
Crews were out on routine duties when the two vehicles crashed into each other at the junction with Station Road in Herne Bay at 10.20am.
Firefighters jumped from the engine and realised the elderly driver of a Vauxhall Astra was trapped.
Using specialist cutting equipment, they helped free the man, who was passed into the care of paramedics.
He is not thought to have been seriously injured.
No firefighters were hurt in the crash.
The road was shut off for several hours while the damaged car was recovered, but it has now reopened and delays have cleared.
The fire engine was returned to the station and is thought to be temporarily out of action.
