Train services were disrupted after a train struck a fallen tree.
The coast-bound line at Herne Bay was quickly re-opened but the line towards London remained blocked by the damaged train until around 10am, leading to cancellations between Faversham and Margate.
The driver of a train heading to Ramsgate was forced to stop and request the power be turned off because of debris from the train which hit the tree.
Southeastern tweeted shortly before 8am this morning telling passengers about the incident.
Services have since returned to normal.
