Police were called into action at the Herne Bay air show following an alleged attack on an officer in Central Parade.

Ron Bruce, of Hillbrow Avenue, Canterbury, was arrested at about 12.30pm on Saturday, and later charged with being drunk and disorderly and assaulting an officer.

The 29-year-old has been bailed to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 19.

The air show attracted a record crowd on Saturday, with an estimated 100,000 people watching the action.
