A man has died after being struck by a train at a station.

Police were called to Herne Bay railway station shortly after 10pm yesterday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended, and trains between Faversham and Margate were suspended while emergency services responded.

But a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police say the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A file will be a prepared for the coroner.
