A building which has sat empty for the last two years after Sainsbury's stalled plans to launch a store has been finally given an opening date.
The Broomfield store, near Herne Bay, will finally unlock its doors to customers on November 28 - ending months of speculation.
Residents were made aware of the news after a sign was erected off the roundabout in Margate Road.
It said: "Your new Sainsbury's superstore and petrol station will open 28 November."
This comes three months after supermarket bosses confirmed they had been in discussions with Canterbury City Council about a revised plan to open a 50,000 sq ft shop, with an Argos inside it, and a six-pump petrol station.
They also said the supermarket will sell Sainsbury's branded food and Tu clothing.
It will be open 24 hours a day and is expected to create between 150 and 200 jobs, many of which have been advertised online.
It has also submitted a licensing application to sell alcohol between 6am and midnight every day and hot drinks and food between 11pm and midnight.
The saga surrounding the supermarket at Altira Business Park has been rumbling since 2014 when the chain submitted proposals to build on the land.
It was given planning permission in 2015 and the shell of the supermarket was completed in 2016 - but it has sat empty since.
