Hannah Hasham was distraught when her parked car was written off by a runaway vehicle.
But just four days later, she won a brand new Fiat 500 in a restaurant promotion in Herne Bay.
The 30-year-old nanny scooped the prize worth £13,000 while having lunch at Table Table in the town with a friend.
Their bill came with two codes which diners can use to play the competition on-line.
Hannah said: "My friend scanned her code and said 'ooh, I've won a free dessert'.
"But when I scanned mine, it said I'd won a prize and when I pressed claim, it came up with the car, which I just didn't believe. But a member of staff confirmed it and I got an email soon after as well.
"It was quite surreal and I was almost in shock because you never expect to win something like that."
"It an incredible bit of luck because my old Ford got written off just four days earlier..."
Hannah is now urging other diners not to dismiss promotions like the Sizzling Summer Spectacular one Whitbread has been running.
"I'll never ignore one in the future," said Hannah.
"It an incredible bit of luck because my old Ford got written off just four days earlier when a car rolled into it after the handbrake was left off," she said.
"But I still didn't quite believe it until I got a call from the Fiat garage asking when they could deliver the car."
Now a funky Sicilian orange Fiat 500 sits on her driveway in St Ann's Drive in the town.
"I'm almost too scared to drive it because it's so new and shiny," said Hannah.
"My husband Daaim and I have had to get a bigger car because of my job where I need to have child seats in the back and we also have a dog.
"But I'll certainly be keeping the Fiat for a while and enjoying it."
