Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision in Herne Bay left a man in his 80s fighting for his life.
The pensioner, a pedestrian, was airlifted to a London hospital following the incident in Avenue Road at the junction with Pier Avenue, shortly before 8.20am today.
He was involved in a collision with a grey Honda Civic, and his condition is described as being serious.
Press officer Steve Knight said: "Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out inquiries and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the car or pedestrian in the moments leading up to it.

Collision investigators have now left the scene.

The air ambulance landed on the beach nearby.
It's believed there may be CCTV evidence available from the car wash.
A witness said he saw paramedics carrying out treatment at the scene, with injuries thought to include broken ribs and lung damage.
