Police are hunting for a man after a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on a footpath in Herne Bay.

The girl was walking along the path linking the Thanet Way with Eddington Road with a friend when they were approached from behind by a man.

The suspect sexually assaulted her before running off.

Police were called just after 3pm and searched the area but could not find the man.

Officers are currently compiling a description and an efit is expected to be issued tomorrow.
