Police have discovered a cannabis factory at a house in Herne Bay where hundreds of cannabis plants are being grown.

They raided the detached property in Cavendish Road late on Tuesday afternoon but nobody was at the address.

A search team is due to count and remove the plants after the electricty has been switched off.

They will also be looking for other clues in the property about who may be responsible for growing the plants.

Police spokesman Jane Walker said: “We acted on some information we received and are now trying to trace the tenant or owner.”
