Rail lines between Faversham and Ramsgate were shut in both directions after a man was hit and killed by a train this morning.
The track were closed shortly before 9am after the man was struck near Birchington-on-Sea railway station.
Rail operator Southeastern warned passengers to expect disruption after the incident.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Our officers were called to a crossing close to Birchington-on-Sea railway station on Monday, 23 March, after a report that a person had been struck by a train.
"Officers from BTP attended the incident, which was reported shortly before 9am. A man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Replacement bus services were put in place between Faversham and Ramsgate.
The line between Faversham and Dover has now re-opened, but there are some knock-on delays.
