Police closed a rural road and diverted traffic after a crash involving two cars.

Motorists reported that Bullockstone Road near Herne Common was shut after the accident shortly before 5pm.

A diversion was put in place, affecting traffic travelling from Canterbury to Greenhill and Herne Bay.

Motorists instead had to go through the village of Herne.

Police say two vehicles were involved, but say there have been no reports of any injuries.
