Residents are being warned to steer clear of a town centre road after a sinkhole appeared overnight.

The void was spotted in Central Avenue in Herne Bay this morning, with the depth measuring a couple of feet deep.

Near the Broadway junction, its presence has caused congestion in the area with the road partially closed as a result.

It is not known what has caused the damage.

Kent County Council says workers and engineers arrived at the site earlier today.
