Stunning pictures show the moment a huge storm loomed over the sea as it approached Herne Bay.
Residents were amazed to see the strange cloud formations and rain cascading over the landscape yesterday evening.
Cos Constantinou captured a bizarre cloud “floating” along the horizon on video after a yellow warning for thunderstorms was issued.
He told KentOnline: “I live in the prom and we’re used to seeing all types of weather, but this was so unusual as it was a cloud travelling along the horizon, as opposed to sitting in the sky.
“I’ve not seen this before.
“It ‘floated’ along the horizon for a while and then a funnel formed up in the sky and came down to low cloud and basically hoovered it up.
“And there’s me thinking clouds are boring!”
A second weather warning has been issued for today, after yesterday’s announcment from the Met office.
Mr Constantinou shared the video to a Facebook group, asking if other locals had seen the strange phenomenon.
He was not the only one to get a snap of the storm coming in yesterday.
Pictures of a huge patch of rain falling over the sea as well as stormy skies were also shared to social media.
