Driver clocked speeding at 112mph on Thanet Way

A driver who "smelt of alcohol" was pulled over by police after overtaking their car at 112mph.

The suspect was clocked travelling at the excessive speed on the Thanet Way - which has a maximum 70mph limit - in the early hours of this morning.

Officers breathalysed the driver, who failed the roadside test. However, when he later provided a breath test in custody, it was under the legal limit.

Kent Police's roads unit tweeted: "One very lucky driver who will now attend court for his speed."
