A popular route running through the centre of a seaside town will be closed for 11 days.
Mickleburgh Hill in Herne Bay will be sealed off between Herne Avenue and Tyndale Park from Monday, January 7, to allow for gas mains work.
In a letter sent to residents by SGN, the company says it expects the road to reopen on Friday, January 18.
Diversions will be in place in Canterbury Road, Beltinge Road and Dence Park.
SGN spokesman Bradley Barlow said: "We are investing to replace our old gas mains and services with a new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply to the area.
"We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years.
"This means that when the work is complete, people will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come."
