Travellers who moved onto land next to a housing estate have moved, Canterbury City Council has confirmed.

Caravans were seen entering Curtis Wood Park on the outskirts of Herne Bay some time after 9pm on Sunday night.

Enforcement officers from the city council were sent to the encampment on Monday morning.

The travellers were seen leaving Herne and travelling towards the Thanet Way at about 4pm yesterday afternoon.

The city council's spokesman, Rob Davies, later confirmed the group had left.
